Marriage

Even so, nothing was sudden. Or exactly incremental.
You say it just appeared, but your hand made it.
Where hovercraft once landed we found fennel,

here now, six feet high. Often I don’t remember.
Today is sun, mint, a dark wash unpegged quick
in fast heat. Flies in the kitchen. Bird flutter.
